From a mechanic who's used both OEM and aftermarket for 22 years
Aftermarket parts for John Deere equipment typically run 30–60% less than OEM dealer pricing. On major components like hydraulic pumps or engine overhaul kits, that adds up fast.
Our parts come through A&I Products one of the most respected names in ag aftermarket. They meet or exceed OEM specs. I've personally used A&I parts in the field for years.
Dealer backordered? Aftermarket suppliers often have parts in stock when the green dealer doesn't. Less downtime during planting and harvest season.
I'm not just a parts website I'm an ag mechanic who's turned wrenches on John Deere equipment for over two decades. Call me if you're not sure what you need.
Straight answers from someone who actually uses these parts
For most applications, yes especially through a quality supplier like A&I Products. The main difference is price, not performance. I've run A&I parts on my own equipment for years. There are a handful of highly technical components where I'd lean OEM, but for the vast majority of wear items, filters, seals, and mechanical components, aftermarket is the smart choice.
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you used aftermarket parts unless they can prove the aftermarket part caused the failure. For older out-of-warranty equipment, this isn't a concern at all.

Yes A&I has excellent coverage for classic and vintage John Deere tractors including the 20, 30, and 40 series. Older iron is actually where aftermarket shines, since OEM parts for vintage equipment are often discontinued or extremely expensive.
